Devy Ferdianto (Sukabumi, 1968) has delved into various printmaking techniques within his works. The artist's continuation of exploring printmaking for several years has engraved his dexterity in, amongst others, Intaglio, Relief Print, Lithography, Serigraphy and alternative photographic processes. The shapes and colours in his works speak of the investigations, journeys and discoveries in printmaking through conventional print works.
Devy Ferdianto has recently settled in Bali. In 2021 Devy established Devfto Printmaking Institute, where, with his knowledge and experience, he sets up programmes for artists to explore the printmaking medium. As the head of the institute, Devy guides artists in developing their printed artworks at Devfto Studio.
As a master printer, prior to moving to Bali, Devy has lectured in several art universities/institutes in Bandung and Jakarta. Through experiments and experience, Devy fine-tuned his skills and knowledge in printmaking during his studies at the faculty of art and design, at ITB (Bandung); Hochschule Fuer Bildende Künste in Braunschweig, Germany; and the Canadian school for "Non- Toxic Printmaking", in Canada.
